I have the great misfortune to live below apt 301 at 1745 Beloit Avenue in West LA, the complex is right beside the freeway. The Sundial Apts are managed by Scott Properties. While V. Dravid's roommate's only vice seems to be in roommate selection, the music-loving Yeti has complete disregard for his neighbors. This does not bode well for the future as this graduate student is apparently attending medical school and seems completely ignorant of the stress and suffering that can be caused by the booming noise of his beloved "music" (see http://www.lowertheboom.org; for the law see http://www.nonoise.org/lawlib/cities/losangel.htm). Aren't we all familiar with those most thoughtful citizens driving in their throbbing cars disturbing thousands of people and multiple neighborhoods with their "music". Luckily they drive on but when you're trapped with same for hours, it's sheer torture. Headphones are a wonderful invention, but rude and selfish people decide that they'd rather drive others mad than inconvenience themselves in the slightest. This is the attitude of this Yeti (Big Foot). The nickname I've given him reflects that he's so heavy-footed that when he walks back and forth across his room and the apartment, which he seems to do sometimes for hours (doesn't this guy ever study?) the ceiling almost falls in. There are some people who should not live on upper floors OR close to anyone who isn't totally deaf.

I tried to reason with this creature. I invited him to hear it for himself (that worked on me when I was young and ignorant of the way certain bass sounds traveled across walls and floors). I explained that I work at home and that the throbbing of my room interferes with my concentration and ultimately my livelihood. He listened for a few seconds and determined that "it's not that bad." Great doctor he's gonna make! No empathy or compassion, just a pronouncement of what he decides is an acceptable distress level for ME. Furthermore, he's either a liar or as no concept of time as he said in front of the manager that he ONLY plays his music for 45 mins in the AM and 45 to 60 mins in the evening.

Management can't seem to do any more than make calls and write warning letters (three as of today, January 14 2004) which he completely disregards. So I thought that since I am forced to suffer with every move he makes, I'd document his activities to alert his future landlords and neighbors and to try to relieve some of the stress caused by my life and comfort being controlled by someone else's whims every minute of every day. But before I begin the list, let me tell you how I live.

If I'm on the phone and the music starts, I have to go and stand in the bathroom hallway to finish the conversation. If the music is on, I can't make or accept phone calls. The manager kindly gave me AOSafety Earcups to wear. Unfortunately, that doesn't do the trick by itself as the noise is more vibration than actual sound, so I put those on and blast up my TV so loudly I'm surprised the whole neighborhood hasn't complained. Thus I'm forced to have the TV on whether I'd like to or not but the noise from the TV is so much better than the pounding. The pounding makes me, a quiet and mild-mannered pacifist, want to kill and smash and scream! If I'm eating dinner and watching something, I have to eat with the earcups on and blasting TV or wait till he stops so I can eat. I can't go to bed early and read without the earcups within reach. Can't go to sleep when I want, nor sleep in when I want. Well, this gives you an idea!

I think since you can't fight these people with laws, we quiet and thoughtful neighbors and landlords should start a registry of offenders and warn others. I think we seriously need to segregate the quiet vs. noisy tenants. Right now it's inevitable that quiet folk end up next to noisy ones. Too often people move rather than complain, since it is pretty pointless, only to find the same problem in the next apt building. Or quiet when they move in and then have new noisy neighbors drive them out. Let the noisy folk enjoy each other's racket and we quiet folk won't inflict our peace upon those who abhor it.

The noise began October 8 right after they moved in. However, I did not begin documenting till he completely disregarded the first warnings by management; in fact, he was WORSE. When he suggested that I wear earplugs, which of course isn't right or fair, I explained that I can't as I have an ear condition and EVERY doctor and nurse has always emphasized that I NOT put ANYTHING in my ears. The "doctor" dismissed the condition as if there's no such thing. Well, he should try to tell that to the makers of Debroxyl.

Nov 13, 2003 -- 8:15-8:30AM music only for 15 mins, thank heavens.

Nov 14, 2003 -- 6:20-6:40 PM music, short again thank heavens. What's scary is not knowing whether it will last 10 minutes or 3-4 hours.

Nov 15, 2003 -- 11:20AM music starts again and goes on higher and lower till about 2:30PM. Music up again at 6:50 PM for a while then again at 7:50PM for a while.

Nov 16, 2003 -- Music from 6:20PM to 8:00PM at various levels.

Nov 19, 2003 -- He stomped around at 4:30 AM and woke me up. Couldn't go back to sleep. This is new! Music started before 9AM and continued to 11AM but not as loud as usual. Great, now he doesn't sleep either. Please not a vampire Yeti!

Nov 20, 2003 -- 8-10AM music that's loud enough, thanks a lot! Again quite awful 8:30-9:30PM.

Nov 21, 2003 -- 3:30AM Big Foot up again. What's with this night shift thing! Couldn't go back to sleep for hours.

Nov 24, 2003 -- 3:30-5:30AM this vampire was getting his exercise up there. How can a person do so much walking around in such a small space!!!! Couldn't go back to sleep again. Great, am starting to feel sick from lack of sleep.

Nov 25, 2003 -- 3:30AM Big Foot vampire is up again. Beat him this time though, have begun to wake up at this hour every night since the 21st in anticipation of the ceiling cracking noises. One of these days, he's gonna end up in my place; I will not be responsible for what I will do to him! As if the earthquakes aren't enough, I live below a human earthquake zone. Music on at 8PM but quite low. I could live with that!

Nov 26, 2003 -- 3:30AM AGAIN! I'm already half-dead from lack of rest! Miserable music on again from 6:50 through 7:10PM with lots of virtually nonstop stomping around. Sounds like humping elephants! Music on loud again from 8:56 till 10PM. I'd kill myself to put me out of my misery, but perhaps that's just what this healer-in-training wants…… Heavens, he's driven me insane…. I've got to get some rest.

Nov 30, 2003 -- 10:30-11AM music was fairly low but enough to be irritating. He must have been gone for the day since I didn't record anything after 11AM.

Dec 1, 2003 -- 8:40AM on with the music but luckily for only about 45 mins.

Dec 2, 2003 -- 4:53 AM Yeti is up again. Just when I was getting used to sleeping again.

Dec 3, 2003 -- 12:30-2:30AM. Again with the stomping back and forth virtually nonstop. Woke me up but I was able to get back to sleep eventually. Unbelievable but the abominable Yeti was up stomping at 7:37 AM and woke me up again. So much for sleeping in to recover from its nocturnal activities.

Dec 7, 2003 -- 4:57-6:12PM the galloping-horse music again. Now I know how Caligula (I Claudius) felt and why he went insane. 7:24PM those weird electronic instruments again, but for only about 15 mins.

Dec 8, 2003 -- From around 1:30AM-4:30AM Big Foot was roaming endlessly.

Dec 9, 2003 -- Big Foot woke me up at 5:01AM. But no noise for the rest of the day, so it was worth it.

Dec 10, 2003 -- Music on and off all day at various levels, sometimes I think my brain just continues to throb with the rhythm even after he turns it off and I think it's just on low. The horror of it is the more I'm exposed to it, the more rather than less sensitive I become. Sometimes I double check with my partially-deaf roommate for confirmation. If my roommate can hear it, then it's not just my brain throbbing.

Dec 11, 2003 -- Music low at 7AM. Pretty sure since Big Foot has been up stomping around since 5:00AM and was peppy till 7:30AM. Nonstop stomping back and forth hundreds of times from 2:30-4:30PM accompanied by some lovely galloping horses that lasted till I put the earcups on and blasted my TV as loud as it would go. All noise stopped dead at 4:30PM.

Jan 7, 2004 -- Restful paradise, not a blessed sound till today when it all started over again. He tried to make up for lost time and played music off and on from 5:30 till 9:10 PM. It was particularly awful between 8:30 and 9:10 PM and somewhat louder at 7:30PM.

Jan 8, 2004 -- Music 8:52 till 9:15AM. Big Foot was very peppy that morning. Music 4:30-5PM really awful.

Jan 9, 2004 -- He got up at 7AM and left almost immediately. It was a heavenly day as he never returned!

Jan 10, 2004 -- Some low grade thumping not too loud though around 5PM. All in all another good day!

Jan 11, 2004 -- Lots of peppy stomping around between 12:32 till 3PM. Music starts at pretty tolerable levels at 5:30 PM pounding up for about 10 intolerable minutes but thank heavens stopped! Up and running about at 8PM for a while and music on but wasn't that bad. 11:15PM up and around for a few minutes but must have left or gone to bed.

Jan 12, 2004 -- 9:05AM he's up! Some music I think but too low to report. Lots of pep between 11:45 and 1PM and music too. It was so bad that I had to stand in the bathroom hallway to talk on the phone. Although I suspect that the music was on all day, the real hell was 5:38-8:20PM. It was awful and had to turn on my TV so loud my roommate was going crazy from my defensive noise.

Jan 13, 2004 -- 8:48AM but only peppy for an hour or so.

Nice ceiling shakes at 1:44, 5:26, 7:28. And the galloping horses music from 8:56-9:29PM.

Jan 14, 2004 -- 9:35-11:20AM music. Awful morning as the pounding noise lasted till 10:19 or so but then culminating in the most horrible buzzing sound for the last 15 or so minutes. It's some kind of electronic music or something. The earcups didn't help nor TV. 12:56 PM galloping horses again I'm getting so irritated that I'm feeling very shaky, I may have to take a tranquilizer or something. 1:30 PM respite from music but stomping continues on and off. I'm sure that it's all quite deliberate since the more we complain, the worse it's getting. Still complained again to the manager and she called the main office. The manager there said she has to talk to her boss.

I'm losing hours and hours of work today doing this to put up on the web or perhaps start a blog. Maintaining it will only take a few minutes per day just as it was making quick notes on my calendar. But I had to do something to keep from committing murder or suicide! I might give him a printout to let him know that whatever I hear I will document in public. Whatever I can't hear I can't record, can I? And I'm not trying to listen; I'm very busy and am not the least interested in this turkey's life or habits.

He returned at 6:40PM but was not excessively peppy; some tolerable stomping around 9:12PM and again after 10PM.

Jan 15, 2004 -- Up at 7:57AM and some running around till about 9:23AM. Heavenly quiet after that. Elephant came home 3:10PM peppy for a couple of minutes then silence until about 6:30PM when thumping started and became increasing loud until it stopped at 7PM. Lucky it was short! No response from manager at head-office.

Jan 16, 2004 -- Up and stomping at 6:47AM but not for long before I left to grocery shop. Stomping starts again at 5:22PM with the galloping horse music starting at 6:31PM. Even with earcups and blasting TV it's bad but only till 7:06PM followed by lots of big stomping across the apt. Didn't hear any more loud music but still his peppy travels continued all evening. No response from manager at head-office.

Jan 17, 2004 -- 9AM he's up. Mega-ceiling-stomping, floor-crunching footsteps begin at 10:40AM and lasts till 11:45AM. 3:19PM Stomping, 3:35 more stomping lasting virtually nonstop till 4:20PM. Then is on the march again at 4:50PM. Galloping horse music from 5:12-5:39PM then again 6:05-6:41PM with big stomping interspersed. But luckily the earcups were sufficient to block out the booming without having to blast the TV. Maybe one of the manager's warning letters worked? 7:08PM mega-stomping, 7:13PM music again briefly, stomping again, 7:31 music again till 7:52PM followed by big time thundering stomps. Finally all died down by 9PM so I could finally eat dinner!

Jan 18, 2004 -- Another Sunday in hell. The Sasquatch arose at 7:15AM waking me with the usual thundering hooves then apparently took a shower during which I went back to sleep. Woke me AGAIN at 8:15AM with massive thundering running around till I gave up on trying to get back to sleep. The stomping continued unabated until around noon when new very loud, continuous, creaking, crunching noises were added. Sounds like the floors are being torn up or something. This mind-boggling noise was so amazing I had to see if I could see anything from across the courtyard. What could be going on? At 12:30 and 2:30 I checked but all the blinds were closed even though it was rather cloudy out; yet no lights were on. Why would a person walk back and forth hundreds of times in virtual darkness for 6.5 hours without stopping? These loud noises continue nonstop till 10:30PM. A grand total of 14.25 straight hours of hell! If I didn't witness it, I wouldn't have believed it!

Jan 19, 2004 -- Up at 7:38AM, Big Foot continues stomping all over the apt till 10:30AM with a few breaks. Heart attack causing big stomps at 12:48PM; some stomps and walking around from 2-2:30PM. Big stomps at 3:06PM; 6:22PM; big stomping between 9:16 till about 10PM. At least there wasn't any music. Heard from management and as we thought there's nothing they can do about stomping even though it's nerve shattering, ceiling-shaking, and lasts 14.25 hours. Have to hope he blasts music or something. Ain't life grand!

Jan 20, 2004 -- Up at 8:14AM stomping till 9:45; mega-stomping between 11-11:30AM, 12:20-12:30PM, 1:29PM, 1:37PM, 2:13 PM; 2:22PM, 4:15 PM, 4:48PM, 5:24PM, 7:48PM, 10PM.

Annoying sounds from music between 2:16PM and perhaps 3PM -- wore earcups which are very uncomfortable but were sufficient to drown out the noise without blasting TV. Horrible sounds between 4:18-4:48PM but earcups worked again.

Jan 21, 2004 -- Big Foot arose at 9AM and basically repeated yesterday's schedule of stomping off and on all morning and around the same times give or take 10 or so minutes. Afternoon was quiet. He returned around 5:19PM with more stomping; 6:47 more stomping and music at a very tolerable level.

Jan 22, 2004 -- 8:35AM Sasquatch arose and did his usual morning stomping routine. Nice big stomps again at 3:30PM, 4:45-7:30PM. Music thumping at 7:30PM but tolerable till the galloping horses from about 7:40-7:50PM -- meanwhile stomping continues till 8:30PM; more music at 9:38PM but tolerable; very peppy stomping till midnight. Stomping woke me up at 11:30PM and had trouble getting back to sleep again. I don't think he sat down all day, just marched around!

Jan 23, 2004 -- a quiet day -- he's gone! Didn't come back at all. Heaven! except for the 2 hours of screaming children in the courtyard.

Jan 24, 2004 -- another quiet day -- he's still gone! My blood pressure had time to go down a tad.

Jan 25, 2004 -- Quiet day until unfortunately the elephant returned at 8:20PM took a long nap and commenced stomping around after 11PM but not for very long.

Jan 26, 2004 -- Big time stomping from around 8:30AM, he was obviously late as he was literally RUNNING around like crazy. Luckily it didn't last long. Quiet day till he returned at 5:25PM. Plenty of stomping follows from 6:08PM on; 6:48 music on but tolerable. Stomping continues on and off until he gets particularly peppy after 8:35PM.

Jan 27, 2004 -- 9AM up and peppy stomping for a steady 45 mins. Back at 1:44PM. Particularly loud stomping at 3:30PM, 3:55PM, 6:57 PM.

Jan 28, 2004 -- Up with a bang at 7:47AM and barely stopped galumphing around all day! Especially loud stomping at 2:55PM along with low music, 5PM, 6:24PM, 9:30 along with low music, 10:15PM music and major stomping and running. 11PM-1:45AM pretty much continuous stomping from one end of apt to the other.

Jan 29, 2004 -- 7:30AM rise and shine! Continuous galumphing across apt till 10:30AM. Short stomping at 12:44PM. From 3:59PM to 5:14PM almost nonstop robust stomping around. Big stomps at 5:14; 6:03; 6:14; 7:00; 8:05; 8:53PM. Quiet till he got very peppy, running all over the place between 10:45-11:15PM nonstop. Music from 4:06PM but at a tolerable level, I think it went on most of the evening!

Jan 30, 2004 -- Up and running at 8:45AM. Big stomps at 11:20; 1:30PM; 4:34-5:03PM; 5:52 music starts but tolerable; steady thundering sounds from 6:30-7:45PM. Big stomping at 10:30PM!

Jan 31, 2004 -- Big stomping between 9:24-10:30AM; big stomps at 12:37; 1:32; 2:15; 7:36; 10:43PM. Music may have been on at 3:20PM but quiet so no problem. Music starts again at 8:00PM but still not enough to complain about.

Feb 1, 2004 -- Up and peppy at 8:20AM! 10AM music on nonstop till 10:52AM. Stomping around frequently between 12:30-2PM. One big stomp at 1:57PM; big one at 2:24PM. Meanwhile music was off and on. During this time he vacuumed (at least he is clean!). Music louder at 5:50PM then quiet till big stomps at 11:10PM. Lastly there was one big midnight stomp.

Feb 2, 2004 -- 7:15AM one or two stomps only. 9:26AM some relatively normal walking around -- that can't be him! I left for a few hours, the minute I stepped in the door at 2:30 I was greeted by stomping! Music came on, 4:26-6:30PM almost continuous stomping about. Music louder at 7:30PM -- the good ol' galloping horses are back. Now he's getting back to normal! I knew he couldn't restrain himself for long. Anyway all quiet by 8:21PM. Very peppy stomping around at 10:15PM but didn't last too long.

Feb 3, 2004 -- 8:40 AM up and galumphing in a hurry. Lasted on and off till quiet by 10:45AM. Pretty sure the music was on again in between and was rather irritating -- Yup he's getting back to normal! Will wait till he gets brazen and then complain, maybe the 4th letter will be an eviction notice and save what's left of my sanity. 3PM big stomps and some music till 3:35; 4:35PM on the march for 10 mins; 5:14PM loud creaking short; 6:10PM peppy; 6:50PM music but tolerable; 7:20PM crunching; 8:10PM across apt stomping; 8:48PM music not long no; 11:18PM a few more stomps to finish the day.

Feb 4, 2004 -- 7:22AM up. I think the music was on by 8:30AM low but throbbing for long enough to drive me a bit nutty. Could it be the traffic noise? They sound so much alike. All I know is when he's not home (as at the Xmas holiday) I don't hear it. Noon loud stomping; music on? perhaps. 1:14PM squeaking & grinding accompanied by stomping almost continuously for an hour or so. 7:20PM there are some weird noises from above though not sure what that means as it's not the usual. Woke me at 1:35AM with a nice whopper stomp and couldn't go back to sleep for hours.

Feb 5, 2004 -- 10:25AM creaking & stomping begins. 12:49 nice big ones; 12:39 walking around; 1:24 more big stomps; 1:39 again; 1:52 again -- stomping about every 10 mins till about 4PM. 5:10PM lots of back and forth running around the apt; the galloping-horse music starts around 6:36PM. By 7:20PM all quiet -- a miracle!

Feb 6, 2004 -- Up at 6:25AM with running back and forth for about an hour. Music on by 8:30AM? The noise seems to have lasted only a little while if it was on! 4:47PM creaking & stomping; 5:40PM music starts with galloping horses starting at 5:50 and lasting till about 6:23; regular music till 7:10PM; 7:25 more music; 8:11 thundering stomping with quiet music until 8:30PM when more stomping. Stomping again at midnight for a while!

Feb 7, 2004 -- back and forth stomping begins shortly after 8:45AM. 10AM-11AM tolerable music with stomping at 10:45AM. Big pounding stomps at 1:24; I think the music was going on and off from 1:24PM till about 7:00PM when he began to march; 7:32 big stomping then all quiet until he woke me up at 1:48AM with a megastomp! Couldn't get back to sleep for an hour or two.

Feb 8, 2004 -- 9:10AM some walking but then glorious quiet till 4:42 stomping; again at 4:55PM with ceiling-shaking galumphing at 5:04PM. Not a bad day at all.

Feb 9, 2004 -- 6:40 AM woken up by big stomps. 11AM a walkabout; Noon till 2PM continuous stomping about; perhaps music on at 2PM but not galloping horses. Evening some running and stomping around for a short while.

Feb 10, 2004 -- 9:30AM big stomping; perhaps music on low; mega ceiling-shaking stomps continuous till 9AM. 1:55PM some big weird noises then nothing; 5:05PM mega stomping continuous for about 1/2 hour.

Feb 11, 2004 -- 5:15AM woke me up with stomping, creaking, squeaking virtually continuously till about 7AM. Music seems to be on but not too loud; big stomps at 9:58; 10:40 big stomping again and on and off the ENTIRE day including some big slamming and banging at 2:25PM; music on around 10:40 with the galloping horses band for about 10 mins; low music seems to be on after 9:40PM. The low music sounds much like the background noise of the freeway -- a bombination (buzzing, humming, droning) -- which makes it hard sometimes to differentiate the music from the traffic. But when he's not home, there's nothing approaching the bombinations as when he's stomping about. Music might even be on constantly when the Sasquatch is home!

Feb 12, 2004 -- 8:30AM up and running around; perhaps music after 9AM. 9:20AM mega-stomping, monumental slamming, banging in kitchen; continuous conversation-stopping running stomps back and forth continuously till I left at 10:30AM. Arrived home at 4PM and was immediately greeted by ceiling-shaking stomps till around 6PM. 8PM begins the nonstop stomping, slamming, banging till about 8:30PM. 11PM stomping and 1AM stomping.

Feb 13, 2004 -- 8:58AM up and usual racket; 9:36PM big stomping, music on for about 45 mins but accompanied by such violent banging and slamming it's sounds like he's moving and throwing the furniture around. After 11PM and again at midnight some more ceiling-shaking stomps.

Feb 14, 2004 -- 8:30AM begins the nonstop running stomping back and forth across room and apt till 2:30PM. What on earth???? No studying for this chappy. Quiet after that but for the 2 hours of screaming children in the courtyard (happens a lot on weekends and especially on holidays -- most of them don't even live here!).

Feb 15, 2004 -- Blessed silence all day and night. He must have been packing to leave or something because he's DEFINITELY not been home since 2:30PM yesterday. No ceiling-shaking, no bombinations, no galloping horses -- Bloody glorious!

Feb 16, 2004 -- Still nothing so got another good night's sleep! Yippee! Boo -- back at 10:30PM, turned music on but luckily not for long. Woke me at midnight & at about 2:30AM. Swell!

Feb 17, 2004 -- 8:55AM squeaking followed by big stomping back and forth; big ceiling-shakers till about 9:30AM. Sasquatch returns at 3:58PM turns on music very loud and nonstop back & forth stomping for about an hour. Peppy again at 7PM with thunderous stomps till about 9:30PM; then peppy again after 11PM for a while.

Feb 18, 2004 -- 8:45 AM up with occasional stomping all morning. Galloping horses music on so loud at 11:47 that I had to call Manager; music off at 12:05PM but followed by tons of creaking and continuous bombination. 8:30 mega-stomping then quiet most of the time till more mega-stomping at 9:40PM.

Feb 19, 2004 -- 5:49 AM ceiling crunching/creaking; 8:50AM stomping for about 30-45 mins. 3:45PM home; bombination around 5PM but low; 8:08PM creaking/crunching with occasional stomping till about 11PM but punctuated with particularly huge stomps at 9:32PM.

Feb 20, 2004 -- 7:30AM stomping and ceiling-shaking running about for about 45 mins. 5:30PM home with continuous stomping, furniture moving?, ceiling-shaking all over the apt till 11:45PM.

Feb 21, 2004 -- 9:16AM up stomping and running continuously for an hour. 2PM big stomping, mega-ceiling-crunching till about 3:30PM; Mega stomp at 5:24PM and 5:51PM; then 11:15PM big stomping around for about 15 mins.

Feb 22, 2004 -- 8:15 AM stomping begins and lasts till about 10:30AM; 2:53PM big floor crunching noises (sounds like gravel); 5:45PM ceiling shakers

Feb 23, 2004 -- 8:20AM Big Foot up and stomping on and off for about 45 mins. 1PM ceiling-crashing thundering; 7:49PM stomping; 11:30PM stomping and music is bloody loud for 15 mins then turned down (thank heavens!) to bearable level.

Feb 24, 2004 -- 8:20AM creaking, stomping, bombination then unbelievable racket all over his room, the living room, and for some time in his room mate's room (what was he doing stomping and dragging dead bodies in his room?). Racket lasted nonstop for about 3 hours

Feb 25, 2004 -- 7:05AM Big Foot arises; 9AM huge ceiling-shaking stomping and bombination for about 45 minutes nonstop. 1:10PM the Yeti returns with nonstop creaking/stomping/thundering till 2PM with the galloping-horse music loud between 1:10-1:30PM. Big stomps at 5:51PM, 6:19PM accompanied with some low bombination for a short time.

Feb 26, 2004 -- 8:26AM up with big stomping and running around back and forth -- ceiling shaking and creaking lasts till about 10:15AM.

Feb 27, 2004 -- 6:22PM home; mega-ceiling shaking 7:12-8:15PM; 9-11PM mega-nonstop galumphing especially in living-room; 11:48PM only creaking; 12:15 a couple of ceiling-shaking stomps.

Feb 28, 2004 -- 6:15AM a stomp and a creak! 9:45 mega-stomping till at least 10AM when I left. Stomping nonstop from 2-3PM; mega-stomps at 4:40PM & 5PM; banging at 5:57PM; 6:04 stomping/creaking on and off, another big couple of ceiling shakers at 7:14PM; stomps at 8:34 with a little bombination.

Feb 29, 2004 -- 8:30AM up and bombination starts; 9:30AM massive stomps, slams, bangs, and running continuously till 11AM; short but huge stomps at 12:41PM and 2:26PM; 2:37PM short but big stomps and a little bombination.

March 1, 2004 -- 6:15AM stomp; 8:15AM stomp; 11:47AM mega-stomping for about 45 mins; big stomps at 1:35PM; big painful bombination at 4:10PM (him or construction/traffic somewhere?); 7:19PM big stomps; 7:37PM lots of peppy whoppers; 8:50PM stomps; 10:27PM mega ceiling shakers; ditto at 11:05PM

March 2, 2004 -- 9AM running around with horrible racket and terrible, painful bombination from 9:15AM. Had to call manager again; no noise after 11AM; 7:30PM returns with usual stomps!

March 3, 2004 -- 8:45AM usual stomping till he leaves, low bombination starts around 9AM but doesn't last long. 1:35PM back and creaking/walking about. Big stomps at 3:24PM; 4:14 creaking about; 4:59 Big stomps. 5-6PM screaming children in courtyard playing soccer? 6PM low bombination; 11PM big stomping finishes up the day.

March 4, 2004 -- 8:50AM up and big steady stomping for a couple of hours accompanied by low bombination. 2:17PM big stomping about; 7:15 big weird squeaking sounds.

March 5, 2004 -- 7:09AM up! 9:30AM on the march! 3:50 Big stomping followed by massive ceiling shakers at 4:05PM.

March 6, 2004 -- Some stomping in the AM but most of it occurs in the late evening.

March 7, 2004 -- 9AM stomping back and forth which continuous on and off all day. From 6-10PM one of the worst ceiling-shaking stomping back and forth yet -- and all seems to take place in the living-room only -- and even caused the floor to shake too! Unbelievable! 11:00-11:15PM very peppy running around to finish off the day.

March 8, 2004 -- 7:10AM up with usual AM stomping routine; really annoying bombination accompanied by louder stomping from 1:15PM-1:45PM. More bombination at 4:43PM but not as loud!

March 9, 2004 -- Woke me up with a loud stomp or two at 5:11AM but was able to go back to sleep. Big stomping again after 7AM with bombination by 8:30AM till about 10AM. Followed by some really awful bombination which could actually be the freeway??? since it was not accompanied by stomping till 1:44PM when massive stomps occurred followed immediately by more bombination which this time I'm sure was bloody music since the stomping continued virtually nonstop till about 6PM. Galloping-horses music was played between 3:30PM-4PM.

March 10, 2004 -- Stomps start around 7AM. Lots of running and mega-stomping back and forth around 9AM and off and on all AM. Gigantic ceiling shakers at between 1-1:30AM with bloody-well miserable & irritating music similar to galloping horses beginning at 1:37PM interspersed with whopping stomps till 2PM I guess no studying going on up there this semester either! Screaming kids playing soccer in courtyard from 3:3:30PM. Big stomps & big screams simultaneous at 3:44PM -- as if they were coordinated, how funny! Followed by some big slamming but quiet by 4PM. Some ceiling-shakers at 9:48 followed by nonstop creaking interspersed with more stomps till about 11:30PM. Stomping at 4:50AM for about 10 mins.

March 11, 2004 -- 8:50AM up with stomps, bombination around 9:30AM but quiet by 10AM. 1:44PM big fat stomps signaled the Yeti's return. Mega-stomps non stop between 3:27PM & 3:47PM then nothing till 5:36. 6:50PM galloping-horse music for about 10 minutes accompanied by massive stomping back and forth across apt; pounding music follows with more galloping horses until about 7:30PM

March 12, 2004 -- Woke me several times before 6:45AM followed by big stomps on and off till I left at about 11AM. I returned around 5PM and stomping/squeaking was already in progress and continued on and off till around 11:30PM

March 13, 2004 -- Nothing till I left at 9:50AM but I was home by around 1PM. Yeti was on the move at 1:33PM but in general there was not much activity today. Either he actually studied (???) or wasn't home and peppy most of the day.

March 14, 2004 -- Not bad till about 2:30PM when music cam on but fairly low; then louder music at 2:56PM followed by 30 mins of stomping. Once the Yeti was quiet the screaming kids began! 8:39PM Big Foot was on the move again but that's about it.

March 15, 2004 -- Big Foot woke me up at 5:15AM. From 7AM there was continuous marching, creaking & stomping till at least 10AM. Quiet till 1:26PM; Absolutely inhuman amount of noise from 3PM for about ten minutes (what could he be doing?). Big stomps at 4:12PM followed by ceiling-shakers at 4:21PM

March 16, 2004 -- 8:40AM up and marching back & forth nonstop for hours. Annoying enough music comes on at 9:30AM accompanied by huge ceiling-shaking stomps for most of the day. Music on at 5:15PM but bearable.

March 17, 2004 -- Sasquatch up at 8:20AM. Plenty of big stomps at 10:26 with bombination at 2:49PM (traffic? or music?). Pretty much the same routine as yesterday.

March 18, 2004 -- From 4:45AM the Yeti woke me up with his stomps several times then I finally fell back to sleep. He's up and running, stomping, creaking away almost continuously for the entire day till after midnight. My ceiling shook so much all day, I thought for sure it would finally fall in on me. Music seemed to be on most of the day with highlights of thumping at 6PM and galloping horses at 7PM for a relatively short while. Apparently not a day for studying. Wish I studied medicine instead of the humanities, I would have had so much fun instead of having to study so many hours per day! I had a miserable, nerve-racking day! not to mention that the stomper wouldn't let me get enough sleep!

March 19, 2004 -- Big foot up at 7:30AM and marching away. 8:21AM galloping-horse music on and loud but not for very long. I was brushing my teeth with the water running when I heard the thumping begin. That sound carries through and over everything! there's no way to drown it out! Plenty of big stomps throughout entire day with intermittent bombination; seems to have gone out for dindin after 6PM and returned at 9:22PM with big trampling announcing his arrival. 2:37AM was woken up with his 10 mins of mega stomps.

March 20, 2004 -- I was gone all day so gratefully missed morning routine. I was greeted almost immediately upon my return (4:30PM) with big trampling and galloping-horse music accompanied by an hour of nonstop screaming and shrieking of kids in the courtyard. Then pretty quiet till after 12:30PM the huge stomping begins again but doesn't last too long.

March 21, 2004 -- 10AM musical thumping followed by nonstop ceiling-shaking stomping for over 2.5 hours. Low bombination (traffic?) starts at 3PM and continues on and off till 5:03PM when it becomes truly annoying for about 30 minutes or so (definitely 'music' that time). Huge ceiling shakers at 5:49PM then quiets down till 11:20PM stomping starts again!

March 22, 2004 -- 8:30AM up and trampling, music on by 9AM (low bombination); usual noonish stomping and some whopping ceiling-shakers at 3:22PM.

March 23, 2004 -- I was gone till after 4PM so got to miss the daily torture. Big stomps at 4:26; 6:15PM some room-shaking stomps (felt that one through the furniture and floor); annoying bombination of some kind of electric guitar?/instrument from 7:34PM to about 8:05PM; 10:10PM mega stomping/trampling/running and weird slamming/dropping/dragging noises, all nonstop for about an hour.

March 24, 2004 -- 8:50AM I'm greeted for two hours of almost nonstop stomping; his usual after stomping with music from 2PM till about 2:30PM

March 25, 2004 -- 9:10AM up with bombination shortly after - but I left so didn't get to enjoy the morning torture; I got home around 12:30PM and got a few hours of glorious quiet; 4PM stomping and bombination begins but not too bad or long; 7:45PM creature on the move; ditto at 9:04PM; 10:42PM my bedroom is throbbing from the Sasquatch's music which continued till 11:11PM though I called the manager at 10:55PM. My roommate thinks his usually quiet roommate was drunk from the racket he was making after midnight. Well at least it's very rare for him -- probably celebrating end of final exams since he seems to actually study and/or work!

March 26, 2004 -- 9:15AM creature up with nonstop stomping/slamming/dropping/dragging till I left at 10AM; I returned at 1PM and had but a half hour of quiet: a few big stomps at 1:30PM; 3:57PM a few whoppers; 4:36PM on the move nonstop with music on for about a half hour but stomping/marching back & forth continues for another 30 mins -- some quiet finally about 5:45PM; Ceiling throbbing music on at 8:09PM for a short time followed by running around at 8:25PM.

March 27, 2004 -- 10AM trampling all over the bloody place! 12:30PM/1PM huge mega stomping about; bombination starts at 1:30PM accompanied by plenty more stomping around. Screaming kids in courtyard at 3:23PM accompanied by louder bombination of creature's bloody music. Stomping & music continues on and off all afternoon and evening punctuated at 5:30PM by some bigger bombination. Mega room-shaking stomps at 6:49PM followed by nonstop marching for quite while then some slamming (of what???) going on from 7:30PM.

March 28, 2004 -- Up about 9AM? Only heard a couple of creaks but nothing else since! Please goddess let the vampire yeti go away for spring break and torture some other neighbors for a while! No such luck, I just heard a slam and stomp and so we begin at 10:38AM with music bombination off mostly on till about 4:30PM the worst was between Noon and 2PM. 5:19PM on the prowl again. 6-7PM non stop marching, bombination continues with running at 8:02PM. By 9:06PM the thumping music was so bad I called the manager and it quieted down shortly after. 9:30PM bombination of music but lower than before accompanied by stomping on and off till 10:09PM. A DAY IN HELL!

March 29, 2004 -- 11:30AM up and running, stomping, pounding, dropping of something huge REPEATEDLY, all accompanied by and hour of music. Bombination disappears but the stomping continues unabated till at least 1:30PM IN-BLOODY-HUMAN! No bombination at all after about 4:30PM.

March 30 thru April 3, 2004 -- March 30 9:20AM some creaking back & forth; March 31 no stomping but bombination all day after about 12:30PM; April 1 some activity from about 11:30AM-Noon; 6:45PM some kind of booming for about half an hour but not the usual; April 3 some mild bombination (it's now 10:54) = CONCLUSION: The Sasquatch is away for spring break and either his roommate or a guest is using the room but this person seems to be human! It has been a fantastically non-irritating, non-stressful and non-infuriating few days -- if only it would last….

April 4, 2004 -- 1:45PM big stomping means Big Foot is back! 6:30PM big stomping and marching back and forth; 6:58 turns on stereo really loud just as I put the first mouthful of dinner in my mouth and wanted to relax and watch 60 Minutes -- so much for that idea, I was driven from my room! Thanks a lot! Horrible thumping lasted 30 minutes and was accompanied by intermittent ceiling-shaking stomping. 9:19PM music thumping accompanied by more mega-stomping for 10 mins. 11:15PM repeat of same! 11:30PM 10 minutes more stomping just for good measure! I'm in hell again!

April 5, 2004 -- 9:55AM creature is up with stomps. Around noon begins nonstop marching/stomping back & forth till about 1:30PM. Stomping on and off all day with mega ceiling-shakers at 8:55PM and 10:10PM. Woke me up with huge ceiling-shakers and running about at 3:15AM and again at 3:30AM. Couldn't go back to sleep!

April 6, 2004 -- Up and stomping away by 8:30AM but not for long. Quiet day -- how lovely! Return of stomping at 6:22PM and whoppers at 6:26PM. 10PM music thumping accompanied by stomping for about 10 mins; 10:20PM stomping and mega-music thumps for about 5mins.

April 7, 2004 -- Stomping by 11:15 AM (I was gone in the morning so was spared the AM routine); Huge stomps after Noon and at 4:19PM. Music and stomping at 6:50PM and so loud at 8:46PM I had to call the manager. Music lower though still annoying but accompanied by even bigger stomps than usual! I guess he was pissed that he was "inconvenienced". Get head phones, stupid! Galloping-horse music starts at 9:44PM and lasts till just after 10PM. I guess he took the millionth warning from the manager as seriously as usual! Woke me up with mega-stomping from 3:00-3:12AM.

April 8, 2004 -- 8AM big stomping and lots of running all over begins and lasts about an hour. Glorious quiet till Big Foot returns at 6:30PM

April 9, 2004 -- Stomping nonstop from 9:30AM till I left. 2:08 stomping followed by music bombination for 45 mins. 8PM constant throbbing bombination. 10:17PM stomping and music was so loud I called the manager again but the bombination continued till 10:44PM. Not sure if the manager called him or he ignored her!

April 10, 2004 -- 10:30AM starts the stomping and continued virtually nonstop until after 2PM. 5PM bombination but bearable, could be the freeway traffic this time, maybe! 8:35 huge mega stomps! 9PM more stomping back & forth nonstop; 9:22PM some weird electronic instrument is being played, but doesn't last tooooo long.

April 11, 2004 -- Big Foot arises by about 10AM; 10:30AM bombination of music starts. 11:30AM really loud music in the living room & kitchen, can hardly hear TV. This lasts about an hour. I think it could be the downstairs neighbor (manager's apt) this time. Great when one isn't doing it, the other one is! 1:30PM stomping begins and lasts nonstop for an hour accompanied by some bombination. 6:36PM ceiling shaking stomps virtually nonstop and accompanied by music thumping loudly till 10PM. Enough to drive anybody nuts. Music turned down at 10PM but big bedtime stomping begins. 1:00-2:00AM nonstop mega stomping accompanied by some bombination? then quiet till mega ceiling-shakers again between 3:00-3:15AM. I lost most of the night's sleep. No wonder that woman shot her neighbor for playing loud music at 4AM, if I were on the jury I'd definitely find her not guilty. Too bad the media never followed up on that story.

April 12, 2004 -- 7:21AM stomping till I left around 9AM; 1PM stomping starts again nonstop and music bombination starts at 1:45PM but low. 4:30PM & 8:55PM more stomping; 10:12PM some real whoppers; the mega-ceiling shakers at 10:16PM until after 11PM.

April 13, 2004 -- Big stomps, running, ceiling shaking most of the morning following his rising at 9AM or so. Quiet after 1:30PM till 5:45PM. 8PM-9:30PM big stomping around. 10:50PM that electronic instrument playing loudly again but only for about 10 mins, which was then followed by massive ceiling-shaking marching back & forth till 11:30PM and then off and on till 1AM. Throughout heard mild bombination though it could have been the traffic, but since I couldn't sleep properly with all the stomping, I couldn't help but focus on the bombination as I was trying to get back to sleep.

April 14, 2004 -- Morning marching starts at 8AM but only lasts for about 10 mins. 7PM-7:30PM stomps announce he's home. But quite a glorious day, I sure needed one to recover from the last week.

April 15 thru 17, 2004 -- 7AM-9AM nonstop running, dropping, slamming, etc. Then heavenly quiet till a little activity heard 2:41PM Saturday April 17 then some noise after midnight.

April 18, 2004 -- 5:50PM Big Foot returns with the usual stomping around; 8:40PM big ceiling shaking noises; 9:48PM that weird, horrible musical instrument noise till 10PM; 9:50PM big ceiling shaking stomp; 10:50PM big thumping music and stomping with the galloping-horse music at 10:55PM for about 10 mins. Stomping still going after 12:30AM. The torture begins again!

April 19, 2004 -- 6AM woken by Big Foot's stomps; 12:40PM a few stomps here and there; 3:18PM a really big ceiling shaker out of the blue; 5:43 big stomping followed by galloping horse at 6PM; 6:30PM kids in the courtyard start screaming as if they're being killed, lasting for a solid 1.5 hours; 7:20PM ceiling-shakers; 8:45-11:30PM off and on stomping around.

April 20, 2004 -- 8:44 AM up an by 1:30PM starts the nonstop creaking, dragging, stomping, ceiling shaking till about 3PM; 4:45PM kids screaming for about 30 mins followed by their playing a radio in the courtyard. All quiet by 6PM. Ahhhh! 9PM Big Foot's back with virtually nonstop stomping back and forth from 10:30PM till after 11:30PM. Huge stomps work me at 1AM with nonstop ceiling shaking stomps that lasted till 2AM; I couldn't get back to sleep till after 4AM.

April 21, 2004 -- 8:21AM Sasquatch woke me with huge stomps followed by nonstop heavy-duty marching back & forth till 11AM (lots of ceiling shakin' going on!). Galloping-horse music starts at noon but doesn't last too long but the bombination continues till 12:50PM Creature is on the prowl again at 5:59PM, bombination starts again very loud including more galloping-horse music and lasting for about 20 mins. 7:22PM big stomping around nonstop till 8:15PM; 10:44PM more stomping; 11:16PM begins again and continues virtually nonstop till 12:30AM.

April 22, 2004 -- 8:45AM woke me with marching, stomping and ceiling shaking that lasts for about 15 mins; some stomps at 8:45AM but not long; bombination loud at 3:30PM but could be a traffic anomaly; 9:49PM whopping stomps; woke me at 1:50AM with big stomps and couldn't get back to sleep for hours.

April 23, 2004 -- 8:57AM starts the big ceiling shakers; 1:28PM begins with thundering, slamming, stomping inhuman racket that lasts for some time; 5:30-6:00PM some noises; 7:04 stomping & bombination; 7:07PM incredible whoppers accompanied by the weird instrument; 10:50PM musical instrument again but not long; unfortunately this is followed by nonstop stomping and marching all over the apt till about 11:30PM.

April 24, 2004 -- Quiet till 3:12PM when there's more inhuman sounds: dragging, slamming accompanied by back & forth marching with big stomps; 4PM loud bombination of music begins and lasts for 20 mins accompanied by a few more big stomps for good measure; 6:05PM huge ceiling-shaking bam! 6:10PM more bombination, but tolerable and then there's quiet.

April 25, 2004 -- 9:30AM some activity; 11:12AM sudden huge running, stomping, slamming, followed at noon by loud marching that lasts till 2PM; 3:37PM the annoying musical instrument again followed by stomping, followed by bombination sometimes loud, followed by more stomping from 7:08PM to 9PM. The creature certainly doesn't study much if at all, doesn't attend classes much if at all, didn't attend the UCLA Book Festival and when I looked at his apt all the blinds were closed tight all day. This is very strange behavior indeed, can't imagine any normal human activity that causes the type of noises I hear from above. It's all rather suspicious. I read with daylight when it's available, but then I'm human. I also don't march vigorously for hours on end in my apt in the dark! A loud noise woke me at 5:30AM but wasn't sure it was Big Foot.

April 26, 2004 -- 8:37AM up with huge ceiling-shaking stomps lasting an hour or so; 1:18PM big stomps and the usual racket for about an hour; after 2PM the usual bombination and off and on stomping. 1AM woke me up with lots of stomping activity; same around 5:30; before 7AM a few more

April 27, 2004 -- 4:42AM up and active stomping and bombination for about an hour; 5:41PM return is marked by stomps; screaming child in courtyard for 15 mins; bombination again starts at 6PM with stomping off and on for hours. Stomping and marching after 11PM for about half an hour.

April 28, 2004 -- 7:30AM up and intermittent stomping continues till 9AM when continuous marching/slamming/bamming begins and continues till at least 10AM accompanied by music bombination; by 1PM intermittent stomping begins until it becomes nonstop stomping at 1:30PM which lasts till 2:05PM; apparently sat down for a few minutes till nonstop stomping goes from 2:30-3PM; 3:17PM starts again an lasts till 4PM. Bombination and big stomps/dropping/slamming/running begins again at 7:35PM for a time; again at 8PM and again at 10PM; Virtually ever 1/2 hour this pattern is repeated throughout the day into the night as at 11:30PM the creature is still marching!

April 29, 2004 -- 5:37AM wakes me with a couple of huge stomps; 7:32AM up and running with constant back and forth stomping across apt till 9:45AM possibly accompanied by bombination (traffic?); Wow quiet! Yippee! 8:52 PM home with constant creaking (almost human) till 10PM.

April 30, 2004 -- big weird thumping/slamming/creaking noises like rats begin my day with stomps getting bigger as the morning wear on; slowed down a tiny big at 11:40AM then Big Foot seems to have left at noon. Lots of loud bombination all morning. 1:42PM back with creaking which turns into running lasting till 3PM when children and one adult start riding bikes in the courtyard (yes the adult too); this lasts about 40 mins; 3:14PM big stomping begins and lasts till 4:30PM; more kids are yelling in the courtyard for about an hour; 8PM more kids yelling; Creature begins his prowl accompanied by bombination at 8PM. 8:05PM ceiling-shaking stomps last for 1/2 an hour; 9:15PM more ceiling shaking stomps/marching/etc. nonstop until 10PM

PS I ended up with an inner ear infection from wearing the earcups while I had the flu for a month this past January. At least that's what I think caused it because it's never happened before in my life, and they are rather tight for maximum protection. So not even that is much of an option.

May 1, 2004 -- 8:20AM up and stomping on an off till around 10AM; Children screaming outside from 11:30AM for a while; 12:20PM creaking indicates something is up there; 2:39PM huge stomping but not for long but accompanied by music bombination (for sure!); 3:27PM begins the big stomps/slams/bams virtually nonstop till 5:30PM; children scream on and off but not for long; loud bombination goes on till about 8PM but not loud enough to call the manager. 8-8:40PM nonstop stomping; 11:30PM huge thundering noises start; 10:30-11:30PM people outside are very loud (seems to be some kind of party); all seems to have calmed down by midnight.

May 2, 2004 -- 8:58AM up with stomps; 9AM-12:45PM virtually nonstop stomps and creaking, after which bombination starts but does last to long; Marching stomps start again at 1:07 and last till about 2PM; 4:30PM intermittent stomps/marching all over the apt till 6PM when it becomes continuous till 6:30PM Children screaming starts at 6:50PM in the kiddy pool (once jacuzzi) till 7:30PM when bombination starts followed by stomping from about 8PM to 8:30PM; 9:44 big running stomps out of the blue; Woke me around 12:30PM with stomping; then again at 1:30PM and couldn't go back to sleep till after 2:30PM

May 3, 2004 -- 8:20AM up followed by stomping till about 10AM; 12:20PM huge stomps intermittently for a couple of hours; all quiet by 5PM; Home with mega-stomps waking me at 12:45AM

May 4, 2003 -- 7:45 AM with tolerable amounts of stomping till 9:50 then mega-stomping and marching till I left at 10AM; Noon more loud marching back & forth for about 30 mins, then heavenly quiet. 6:45 PM home with mega-stomping lasting about 30 mins. 8:13 PM rat-like scurrying noises nonstop interspersed with stomping till about 9PM

May 5, 2004 -- 8:13AM up with virtually nonstop stomping till 9:30AM; creaking starts at 1:15PM so it's home; horrifying racket at 1:42PM; 2:24PM whopping stomps begin followed by very loud creaking noises nonstop for 10 mins; 5:35PM some frightening stomps then quiet again. Perhaps finally there's some studying going on? 6PM or so some stomping; 7PM screaming children but not for long, but accompanied by nonstop loud creaking with occasional stomps/slams/bams for a while.

May 6, 2004 -- 7:30AM up with running/marching/stomping/slamming nonstop till 8:30AM; 1:37PM return is heralded with mega-stomps; low bombination for a couple of hours after; 8:30PM the rat-scurrying noises are back; 8:54PM more loud creaking.

May 7, 2004 -- 2:12PM loud creaking and bombination; 3:53PM big pounding noises for about half an hour; 5:55PM lots of mega-marching; 9:20PM loud thunderous sounds; 10PM the living room continues to throb with stomps.

May 8, 2004 -- 8AM creature is up! 9AM begins the stomping and music bombination till I left at 10AM; 11:15AM nonstop marching back and forth across apt accompanied by dragging/dropping/slamming/etc. till about noon, but bombination continues; 1:50PM loud marching across bedroom (it's only about 15 x 20 foot room - tops - for goodness sake!) but intermittent on and off for hours; 11:-11:35PM nonstop mega-stomping.

May 9, 2004 -- 7:25AM up with peppy stomps but intermittent throughout morning; 11:27AM nonstop creaking/marching/slamming with occasional ceiling-shakers as at 11:52AM when bombination begins, which lasts till about 1PM. 3:30PM racket starts again but it only intermittently punctuated with mega-stomps; same at 5:46PM; 6:15PM loud creaking almost continuous till 7PM; 9:02PM again there's nonstop rat-like noises with bombination starting and lasting for some time; the galumphing lasting till after 12AM (most of this seems to be in living room and his roommate's bathroom -- go figure!).

May 10, 2004 -- 7:18AM Big Foot is up; marching begins at 8:40AM with intermittent loud bombination lasting till at least 10AM when I leave; 12:30PM when I return home there's still loud bombination with big huge crashing stomps at 1:28PM followed by louder bombination and more marching till 2PM. Screaming kids in courtyard between 5:45-6PM. 6:44 huge rat-like scurrying begins again but not for long.

May 11, 2004 -- I was gone from early morning till about 5PM and gratefully arrived home in quiet. 7PM stomping begins accompanied by very weird noises and bombination, followed at 7:30PM by brain-invading electronic instrumentation noises -- this behavior continued on and off till 9PM, then started again at 9:30PM lasting a half hour or so; 12:55AM woke me with horrific racket of nonstop stomping/running/slamming/thundering marching/monumental creaking, which lasted till 1:38AM. I couldn't go back to sleep properly all night. I recently read about Death Row inmates who endure something similar with loud metallic racket waking them at 3AM and they try to doze on till around dawn -- that's was certainly my story this night. I guess I've been found guilty of sleeping nights!

May 12, 2004 -- 8:20AM the vampire yeti is up stomping and marching but I left by 9AM groggy, nauseous, dizzy (some of us need sleep, sorry!). 6PM creature begins marching about accompanied by bombination at 6:24PM, but not for long. Gratefully I passed out from exhaustion and didn't hear any of the night antics.

May 13, 2004 -- 8AM creature is up with gigantic creaks and music bombination begins. All noises stop abruptly for the day - it's gone, yippee I'm free!

May 14, 2004 -- 5:52 PM it's back with bombination but it's so tolerable that I'm not sure it's Big Foot. Children screaming at 6:40PM for awhile, yelling of idiot sports nuts for an hour or so around 7:45PM. Not a bad day!

May 15, 2004 -- 7:34AM somebody's up there with loud creaking and occasional stomping marches all morning accompanied by bombination - but not as terrible as the Sasquatch (strange!). 1PM stomping begins but intermittent, some ceiling crashers, is the critter back already? Ceiling shakers at 6:56 accompanied by music bombination, mega-stomps at 8:50 and at midnight. Ho hum, have had worse days.

May 16, 2004 -- 7:15AM day begins with some marching but not for long; 11:30AM some more marching or as my half-deaf roommate (literally can't hear at all in one ear) says "he's walking on my brain." 1:51PM the real fun begins with nonstop giant ratlike scurrying till 2:22PM; from then to about 2:45PM nonstop horrific bombination and ceiling-shaking racket; 3:23 giant stomping & scurrying till 5PM; 6:32 some stomping -- guess he's getting pooped! -- 8:17PM marked by giant running jumps out of nowhere followed by music bombination at 8:21 and ridiculous amounts of creaking and weird music sounds till about 8:56PM. 9:24PM he's on the move, but I guess after such an active day, he's finally tired!

May 17, 2004 -- Huge stomping march starts the day at 8:45AM and lasts till about 9AM. I was gone most of the morning and got to miss some of my daily torment. 11:51AM big foot is home and peppy and relatively loud bombination again. 1:18 the marching about continues marked by giant ceiling-shaking stomps at 2:11PM; Bombination at 4:27PM for a while; 7:11PM children screaming in the courtyard as if they're being slaughtered till 7:27PM. Ah, all quiet above and below till 8:21 when the rodentlike scurrying begins; 8:50PM gigantic ceiling shakers nonstop till after 9PM.

May 18, 2004 -- 7:20AM marching begins; 8:45 loud bombination of some kind of instrument? till 9:15AM -- not sure if this is coming from above -- on and off marching back and forth till around noon; 4PM one brief march; 4:46PM big running stomps then nonstop marching from 5:18PM till about 6PM. Not too bad a day compared to the others.

May 19, 2004 -- 5AM some scurrying about; 6:30AM some more; huge stomps at 8:40AM followed by nonstop racket with intermittent ceiling shakers till 9:30AM. Bombination for hours but could be traffic since it goes on and on almost all morning and early afternoon -- sometimes the traffic noise is so loud, Los Angeles is an extremely noisy place especially near the freeway. At 5:48PM the real concert begins lasting till around 9:10PM -- unmistakably music bombination since it's so loud and rhythmic, with franticly thumping noises finishing up with the galloping-horse music. The physical activity accompanying this throbbing racket is 5:50PM creaking, 6:25 whopping stomps; 7:53 ceiling shakers; 8:19PM more ceiling shakers. I tried to eat dinner in this horrific environment but couldn't take it and called the manager at 8:28PM to report it. My day ending with nonstop big-footed marching till after 9:30PM. Quiet after 10PM, thank the deities!

May 20, 2004 -- 8AM up and marching, but I got to escape it for a few hours since I went out, however "he walked on my brain" reported my roommate "from between about 9-10:30AM. Some bombination off and on between 3-7, but not sure that it was coming from above especially since there wasn't the usual ceiling shaking going on. 8:22PM a little creaking but no bombination. So lovely evening till creature arrived home at 11PM but I managed to sleep through whatever followed.

May 21, 2004 -- 7:45AM up but no trampling, as if someone human was up there for a change. Noon some short trampling; 2:25PM someone just moving around but bombination begins though low; 2:49PM greeting by one heck of a ceiling shaking stomp; 2:27PM more music but different tune; 3:24PM same music; followed by frantically paced thumping, those musicians could use a few valium (as could I); 3:34PM horrible electronic throbbing -- all accompanied by nonstop marching around the apartment. It finally stopped by 5PM but I still heard DUHNDUHNDUHN DUHNDUHN-DADADADA in my head for the next several hours. Yeah, real catchy "tune". Unfortunately for me there seems to be only three rhythms available to musicians today. Meanwhile once he finished torturing me, 6 running and screaming children in the courtyard appeared to entertain me for about half an hour! 6:05PM back from dindin already it seems as some noises begin over my head. 7:45PM massive ceiling shakers, continued again at 8PM and one more time with feeling at 10PM

May 22, 2004 -- 8:30AM the march begins, but it's short and tolerable; off and on throughout the day just a few creaks, how lovely! Till they were getting louder and louder until after 4PM, it's back to the usual routine; 4:30PM music bombination starts and it's the same bloody song: DUHNDUHNDUHN DUHNDUHN-DADADADA accompanied by occasional ceiling-shakers; 5:10PM peppy yeti runs and jumps around for 10 mins; 7:03PM massive ceiling shaker; 7:19PM again; 8:21 again; massive trampling begins 10:42PM but doesn't last too long.

May 23, 2004 -- Quiet AM and I was gone most of the day, roommate reported that she's heard nothing to report. Shoot I didn't get to stay and enjoy the quiet! Who knew! Trampling starts at around 8PM and racket is nonstop till 9PM; again some more of the same at 10PM and again at 11PM.

May 24, 2004 -- 7:55AM up and trampling around virtually nonstop till 9:15AM; Heavenly quiet till 10:21PM when there occurred whopping ceiling shakers out of the nowhere then nothing.

May 25, 2004 -- 7AM up with a few stomps; 8AM-9AM nonstop marching marked by whopping ceiling shaker at 8:33AM. Low bombination starts around 9AM and lasts for a while, not positive it's from above. quiet till 4:25PM when DUHNDUHNDUHN DUHNDUHN-DADADADA music begins; again at 6:08PM; whopping stomps at 6:24PM with more at 6:36 accompanied by the big-ratlike scurrying. 7:22PM off for a nice march across the apartment; 7:27PM music bombination is so loud I can't listen to TV (together they make quiet a dissonant cacophony) so turned it off. Screaming children for a short while. At last! all quiet at 7:40PM.

May 26, 2004 -- 6AM awoke to three stomps from somewhere; 7:40AM ceiling shakers in teeny weeny bathroom (there's no escape) -- how does anyone make such big noises in spaces as small as 2 x 2 feet? 8:15 very peppy stomping but doesn't last too long. Miracles of miracles nothing for most of the day. Wow, the yeti actually went somewhere, perhaps to attend a couple of classes for once! or not -- probably went to buy some music CDs. 6:57PM home with ceiling shaking stomps that does on and off till 8:10PM when there is nonstop thundering racket till almost 11PM. Was so terrified that the music would accompany this energetic romp, but it didn't. At least I was spared that.

May 27, 2004 -- 7:45AM-9AM or so the usual morning marching. Quiet till 8:12PM when there are a few massive ceiling shakers. Then quiet again. Very abnormal for the Big Foot but wonderful for me!

May 28, 2004 -- Wonderful day with only an hour of screaming children between 6 and 7PM to report.

May 29, 2004 -- Even better -- not even screaming kids! I've died and gone to heaven! I'm being so wonderfully productive, I can think clearly and everything.

May 30, 2004 -- Noon-1PM some bombination? seems to be the DUHNDUHNDUHN DUHNDUHN-DADADADA one till 2PM -- but, but, but, but where's the stomping? What's going on here? Confused but happy since the rest of the day and night pass peacefully.

May 31, 2004 -- All quiet till screaming bunch of kids in what used to be a lovely, clean courtyard (2:45-4:45PM) who proceed not only run around screaming like they're being slaughtered, riding bikes (so much for the indoor-outdoor carpet! not sure how much longer it will last), playing in the ex-jacuzzi and with the hoses wasting water, singing, playing some kind of music in between. As for the yeti's movements: there was some creaking at 4PM; 5:20PM starts the real stomping and marching across whole apartment (my poor roommate's brain!); the DUHNDUHNDUHN DUHNDUHN-DADADADA music begins at 6:20PM followed by music bombination till around 8PM. Racket lasts till about 9PM then thank the goddess the torment is over for today. I wish I could run away from home!

June 1, 2004 -- 6:47AM yeti rises; 8:20AM starts with giant-rat-scurrying noises building up to marching and stomping till about 9AM. 1:30PM starts slowly with the scurrying getting louder and louder for 45 minutes; 6PM marching for a short while; 7:14PM whopping crunching sounds as Sasquatch grinds the ceiling into dust!

June 2, 2004 -- 8AM big ceiling crunches begin my day and the usual morning march takes place till at least 9:45AM when bombination starts. Gratefully I leave my "home" to do some research. 1:34PM a couple of massive crunches; 3:10PM horrible thumping, drumming music (a new CD?) but no stomping, but it's definitely got to be coming from up there, yeah the same old music thumps follow; slight ceiling crunches at 3:42PM. Quiet from 4-4:33 PM when intermittent interspersed with 30-min nonstop ceiling-shaking marches continue till around 11PM. Don't Sasquatches ever sit down -- or sleep! Massive ceiling shaker over my roommate's room at 1:30PM, did Big Foot drop by roommate's for a midnight chat?

June 3, 2004 -- 8AM ceiling-shaking marching begins but only for about an hour. Well, this is where I will have to leave off for quite a while. Besides the basic routine documented herein will simply continue unchanged. Between the kids and the neighbor from hell, I have had to basically change my occupation and put my fledgling dream business on hold for now and give up the painstaking work I love and replace it with mindless less well-paying work and longer hours, since it's too hard to concentrate here. I will try to move as soon as humanly possible. This move will be HUGELY expensive and exhausting AGAIN. You also lose a couple of months of your life, cleaning, packing, cleaning, unpacking. I dread it so incredibly but am now living in such hell that I don't think there's much choice.

I will try to create a website or group that can track these inconsiderate people! Let them live in a noisy building together, they can each blast up their music to try to drown each other out day and night if they like. Let them play dueling woofers or whatever and run around night and day. Just leave the rest of us in peace! We are probably the silent majority and it's costing us health and big bucks to keep fleeing the same situation over and over again. We move in, it's great, someone moves out, something moves in, it's hell.

June 3, 2004 continued -- 6:30PM-&PM kids shreiking in the courtyard. 8:30PM Big Foot home and marching with ceiling-shaking stomps intermittently till 11:30PM.

June 4, 2004 -- 7:26AM up with ceiling crunches lasting about 45 minutes. 4:30PM marching; 8:30 stomping; 8:45PM music thumping of galloping horse-music till 9:15PM and only intermittently thereafter. 11:30PM heavy duty marching by Big Foot till after midnight. HELL OF A DAY & NIGHT

June 5, 2004 -- 7:20AM Sasquatch begins on and off bouts of marching. 2:30PM pretty much nonstop stomping till 5:24PM; screaming kids start at 5:15PM lasting till 7:15PM; Huge big buzzing sounds starts at 5:30PM and lasts for about 30 minutes -- some kind of music, might not be the Yeti though, but probably since I never heard it before he moved in. All quiet till 7:27PM; 8:37PM stomping and music begins just as I want to eat dinner, it's the DUHN-DUHN-DUHN garbage. Stomping in living room too. Quieter after 10PM, the last few stomps occurred at 11:30PM. ANOTHER DAY & NIGHT FROM HELL

June 6, 2004 -- 5:22AM stomps from above wake me up. Quiet as far as I know during the day. Creature came home after 10PM and built up to nonstop deafening creaking stomps till 12:47AM. In-bloody-human. Since I couldn't sleep counted 67 stomps in about 5-10 minutes, thus I heard about 603 very loud creaking/crunching stomps per hour. No wonder I'm going mad. I'm sooooo bloody sleepy and tired. After that it took me hours to get to sleep - am so overtired. ANOTHER MORNING AND NIGHT FROM HELL

June 7, 2004 -- 9AM begins massive march but I leave. 2:16PM the second I get home more ceiling shaking stomps, rotten day as usual but got a good night's sleep for a change.

June 8, 2004 -- 8:30PM racket begins, bloody music by 9PM lasting till 10:15PM all accompanied by marching.

June 9-10, 2004 -- didn't seem to log anything, either I was too tired or they were relatively quiet days.

June 11, 2004 -- 8PM music and stomping but only a few minutes; Screaming kids in the courtyard. Not bad overall.

June 12, 2004 -- Yeti woke me at 7:55AM. To tired to make further notes.

June 13, 2004 -- Too tired to make notes.

June 14, 2004 -- 4:25 AM woken up with marching stomps lasting 15 minutes. Screaming kids in courtyard 6:30-7:30PM.

June 15, 2004 -- 6AM Sasquatch woke me up. Screaming kids in courtyard 7:30-8:30PM. A double whammy again. Starting to feel pretty sick from lack of proper sleep.

June 16, 2004 -- 8PM Yeti's ceiling-shaking march begins and lasts nonstop till 10:30PM slowing down and finally stopping at 11:30PM.

June 17, 2004 -- Marching, kids screaming -- the usual.

June 18, 2004 -- Screaming kids are my only note. Sasquatch is gone for now.

June 19, 2004 -- Yeti is gone!

June 20, 2004 -- 9:30AM home with huge stomps lasting about 30 mins. 12:30PM huge stomps and low galloping-horse music; 2.30PM on the prowl again. Again an hour later; 4:30 again but virtually nonstop till 6:30 with the music on by 6PM for half an hour. Screaming kids in the courtyard add to the joy between 6-7:05PM; 8:20PM the music from above is really loud so called manager at 8:20PM. 8:45PM semi-quiet for the moment then noisy again off and on with stomping too till 9:45PM. 10PM non stop stomping till after 1AM, took a sleeping pill which wasn't enough and basically didn't sleep this night. Great thing before work the next morning.

June 21, 2004 -- 6:27AM Sasquatch wakes me up with loud/huge stomps then nothing till I left.

June 22, 2004 -- 7:40PM marching commences for 20 minutes. I slept from 9PM to 7AM YIPPEE! I only need about 7 of these to feel human once more.

June 23, 2004 -- July 4, 2004 Nothing to report because Big Foot is away. A wonderful week of sleep, first I woke up at odd hours and had nightmares, but then started to relax and as of today feel like I've been reborn! How I dread the return of the yeti. Whenever I hear a noise, I wonder if my peaceful, rejuvenating days are already over way too soon!

July 24, 2004 -- Ceiling Shaking Marches begin slowly and gradually from 11:15AM. It's as if a whole bunch of stuff was thrown in the middle of the living room and back and forth unloading around the apt took place from that location. One ceiling-shaker was so huge it sounded like someone had fallen from a ladder. Slowly it built up to an incredible racket till it stopped dead at noon. Racket with marching, dragging, running, dropping continuous from 4:29PM till 5:25PM; 6:14PM starts again though mostly with mega-marching nonstop till about 9PM. Fifteen minute break then some creaking around 9:15PM

July 25, 2004 -- 10:23AM thundering, huge racket starts again, nonstop creaking, crunching, thundering in one spot over my head till 11:46AM then less frequent ceiling-shakers picking up at 12:40 with nonstop huge racket till 1PM, after that intermittent stomps and crashes.

July 26, 2004 -- 4:30PM stomping and continuous racket till about 6:30PM after that intermittent whoppers. 9:15PM nonstop marching, running, dragging, slamming, creaking, crunching HORRIFIC racket until 12:30AM. Couldn't sleep for hours after it stopped.

July 27, 2004 -- 6:38AM huge bam then nothing till I left. From about 3PM to 8:30PM dragging, weird noises, marching pretty continuously. 10PM to 2AM so much noise that even though I was exhausted from the night before, I could only take little cat naps between the the ceiling-shaking stomps. I woke up at least everything 5-10 minutes during this time.

July 28, 2004 -- 10:57PM first mega stomps begin slowly getting peppier and louder with intermittent huge ceiling-shakers till 1:43AM

July 29, 2004 -- 6PM marching begins, intermittent noise throughout evening until 12:18AM when whopping ceiling-shaking noises woke me from a dead sleep and was forced to listen to intermittent huge slams and noises until 1:30AM. Really starting to feel sick from lack of sleep. I talked to the manager and she said the tenant whose room is over mine was out of town and wouldn't be back for another month. So it was the usual culprit. She said she talked to the roommate and he said he was moving furniture, redecorating his roommate's room although he told the manager he'll be moving out in a couple of months.

July 30, 2004 -- 6:50PM marching begins for a while but it's tolerable (almost human!). 8:25PM one whopper overhead that I really thought would collapse the ceiling. Some noise till 9:05PM but I soon passed out from exhaustion. 10:30PM woke me up with huge racket, I called the manager, she telephoned up there but she said no one picked up the phone, then she knocked on the door for 5 mins and there was no answer. After that she went into the courtyard to see if there were any lights on in the apt, but all the lights were out in the apt. Shortly after I called her, I heard running stomps above my head then nothing. All noises but a few tiny creaks here and there stopped dead. I was finally falling back to sleep at around 1AM when at 1:10AM I woke up with huge nonstop stomps and ceiling-shakers. I called manager and then went out to see if the lights were on. The only lights that were on in the apt were in the bedroom over my head. The lights were incredibly bright. The racket was horrible till 2:05AM. Could hardly get to sleep after that. Slept very poorly what little there was of it.

July 31, 2004 -- 10:50AM walking in room till 11:30AM and again about 1:15-1:45PM. Signs of life: 2:52PM; 3:20PM; 5:25PM; 7:17PM big stomp; 7:38PM; 8:15PM; 9:04PM; passed out. Slept all night!!!

August 1, 2004 -- Spoke to manager - there is someone staying up there and she read them riot act yesterday. Thus explaining my one night of sleep. Unfortunately, it only worked for that one night. The same basic pattern of being woken up frequently between 11:15PM and 3AM and sometimes as late as 4:30AM (once at 5:30AM) continued unabated till until Friday night (August 6). During this time, I tried sleeping between the sofa and my bed, depending on where the racket was least whenever I woke up.

August 2, 2004 thru August 6, 2004 -- Am not sure what happened here, I seemed to have lost a week!

August 7, 2004 -- Sasquatch seems to be back, hopefully driving out the vampire forever! His usual pattern of marches started at 1:15PM and lasted virtually nonstop 3:15PM accompanied by some ridiculous noises. Then dead quiet till 9:30PM which was marked by huge stomps followed by marching and running beginning at 10PM but luckily not lasting too long. Either I passed into an exhausted coma or it was quiet all night!

August 8, 2004 -- 9AM small and short activity; 12:42PM big stomp; 1:08PM alive and noisy as hell with nonstop creaking, crunching, stomping till 1:45PM; 2:35PM a few creaking stomps, this continues tolerably till 7PM when it begins to build into a nonstop crescendo at 8PM then periodic again till 9PM. At 10:45 the real irritation begins, virtually nonstop till 12:30PM there’s loud creaking, crunching, stomping, dropping, running with intermittent huge ceiling-shakers. I couldn’t sleep with the racket so tried the sofa but was too irritated by then and couldn’t sleep. At 3AM it seemed safe to actually go to bed. Needless to say, I didn’t sleep well at all and I had to get up at 7AM. I am bruised and have a backache from trying to sleep on the sofa and groggy from lack of sleep. A great way to start the work week.

Now I’m not sure if the Sasquatch (Dravid) is really home or if the guest is still there. Can’t be sure. All I know is that the noises from above are abnormally loud, because when only the one roommate is there, we barely hear a thing at all and Sharon says he’s home quite a bit. This much trampling about and so LOUDLY by one single young man is definitely abnormal.

August 9, 2004 -- 6:50PM creature home. 9PM some activity begins stomping across, but not too bad. About 1AM some big stomps woke me up but then there was nothing and I was able to fall back to sleep.

August 10, 2004 -- A few stomps in the evening. Woke me between 3AM-4AM several times but was able to fall back to sleep and catnapped between the episodes during that hour.

August 11, 2004 -- 1:33-1:45AM woke me up but was able to fall back to sleep.

August 12, 2004 -- 10:15-10:30 such a racket it was scary! Roommate reported several hours of stomping/marching during the day. 11:30PM it starts again building up to a nonstop crescendo of stomping, running, crunching, creaking and ceiling shakers between 12:30AM-1:30AM then slowly slowing down with intermittent huge stomps until 3AM. Called manager on cell and left message. Some noise again around 5-6AM woke me again though perhaps I never was able to fall back into a proper sleep.

August 13, 2004 -- 3-6PM perpetual stomping/marching across apt. 7:15PM starts again with mega-stomping which continues the entire evening with perhaps a 15 minute respite between massive noises steadily building up to more frequent stomping culminating in frightening and ridiculous noises of running and falling at 10PM. 2:57AM huge stomps begin and wake me up over and over again for about the next hour. The manager contacted me today and said that their lawyers say there's nothing they can do. Swell! I sure can understand people finally going postal! I have some hope though as I contacted a gov't organization that says I have a right to a "peaceful enjoyment" of my apt -- I could almost die laughing! Will follow-up Monday with the one in WLA -- if am alive! Woke me up at 2:57AM with a big stomp and the racket lasts about an hour.

August 14, 2004 -- Feeling pretty sick and groggy again. All quiet while creature slept in till it woke up with a bang at 12:55PM followed by crunching/creaking/stomping. Great the vampire slept in so it will be all rested to repeat the usual routine again tonight. Following 12:55 it's intermittent and bearable; 5:10PM vampire really comes alive and is building up for the night; 7PM stomping big time till after 9PM when it stops dead for the night. Still I could'nt sleep well as now I am expecting to be woken up at any time.

August 15, 2004 -- Nothing till big stomps between 3-4PM; then whoppers between 5-7; then nothing till another whopper 8:46PM and intermittently about every hour till around midnight when the creature really came alive with racket about every 10 minutes and real whoppering ceiling shakers around 1:30AM. Basically another night without sleep.

August 16, 2004 -- I called several numbers ranging from the city's council on Renter's Rights (310-474-1667) to the Department of Consumer Complaints 800-952-5210 and several others to no avail. There's really no help out there. You have to be wealthy enough to hire a lawyer or have enough time, energy, money and luck in finding another affordable apartment (and HOPE it's quiet) to move. Evening proceeds with intermittent ceiling-shakers, with horrifying whoppers every 5-10 minutes till around 9PM when vampire takes a longer berak, then intermittent whoppers until about 3:30AM. Accompanying the torture from above were tenants (not from above) screaming and yelling from about 11PM to about 2AM. I don't think I can stand any more of this, I'm feeling sicker and more insane by the day, it's amazing that I can function at all!

August 17, 2004 -- Past out completely exhausted at 9PM; woken by mega-stomps virtually continuous between 3-3:30AM. I couldn't go back to sleep at all. Coming home not only to noise and terror of no sleep, I've been deprived of working on my fledgling small business, my freelance work, and I'm barely able to function at my full-time job. I am getting weaker and sicker by the day. I have to keep canceling business meetings, I can't talk with and enjoy my friends, I'm too tired to do chores, I barely have the strength to shower and drag myself to work and function there. I know I'm going to get something, a heart attack, flu, whatever, my immune system has been compromised by lack of rest, though I spend most of my life in bed -- to no avail!

August 18, 2004 -- 8:10PM Big Foot vampire begins again, about every 15 minutes for hours the racket travels across the living-room and bedroom, often across the entire apt so there's no place to run and hide. At midnight the ceiling-shakers jarred me wide awake as I was almost asleep. At 1AM there're people yelling and partying out there somewhere (but not from above). No sleep once more.

August 19, 2004 -- 7:43PM starts with running and creature is very peppy till finally it stopped at 1:30AM. I am sick now; I caught whatever flu was out there -- I'll be lucky if this is all I suffer since I've felt like the walking dead for some time now.

August 20, 2004 -- Very sick from the flu -- I can barely think or function! I called the manager in a hysterical state -- I also called the FBI because the behavior of the people in the apt above and who they claimed to be just doesn't make any sense -- and if you think the FBI is paying attention, forget it, they took my first name and number and said they'd call back; let's see how long it will take! I'm not thinking of terrorism but there are many other crimes going on in the world as well. In desperation, my half-deaf roommate and I switched rooms. Vampire woke her once in the middle of the night. I didn't sleep that well since I felt sick as a dog.

August 21, 2004 -- 10:20AM up and creaking. Usual start to my weekend except now I have the flu too -- living in horror! 1:10PM running and massive creaking all over the apartment but it's not too bad since I'm up. This racket continues on and off sometimes for 15 minutes at a stretch without respite till after noon. Though I slept in my roommate's room I was still woken up by Gutram at 12:30PM or so and couldn't go back to sleep, but not from the noise, but because now my body or mind has been trained NOT to sleep through the night. My poor roommate was woken up at around 1:30AM but the misery only lasted about a half an hour and she was able to go back to sleep.

August 22, 2004 -- Vampire up around 11AM and gradually the racket builds up so until the noise is nonstop between 12-2PM. 3:30PM AGAIN and nonstop for a short while. 5PM AGAIN a ridiculous peppiness (and remember this is a guest -- it's not even his apartment!), which lasts for hours.

August 23, 2004 -- My roommate was woken in my room around 1:30AM and the racket lasted about 20 mins. I'm so sick with exhaustion and the flu that I'm still not sleeping well.

August 24, 2004 -- My roommate reported a lot of racket going on over the kitchen for hours; it could have been maintenance people as the plumbing in Los Angeles is absurd -- and not just in this building! 8PM nonstop pounding till 9PM -- very abnormal noise. 9:30PM a ludicrous amount of noise for at least 10 minutes, but I passed out in my roommate's room until 2:20AM when I woke up. I'm not sure it was any noise or just the flu and being used to waking up in the middle of the night.

August 25, 2004 -- Miserable amounts of stomping starting slowing at 5PM and building to a crescendo of nonstop racket lasting till 9:15PM. I'm still sick but managed to sleep most of the night.

August 26, 2004 -- My roommate reported all day ceiling-shaking marching. I'm too sick to care about anything and managed to sleep through the whole night.

August 27, 2004 -- As soon as I got home around 6PM big stomps greeted me. 7:35 whopping ceiling-shaker followed by major creaking. 9:15PM racket followed by a monstrous ceiling-shaker at 9:16PM followed by big-time marching, massive creaking, and huge amounts of running like you wouldn't believe! and it continued till 9:45PM when I went to bed; it was quiet for awhile but my roommate reported that it started up again after 11PM but she managed to fall asleep though there were people talking loudly out in the courtyard somewhere!

August 28, 2004 -- 9:40PM the noise begins, shortly followed by huge strides and slamming with incredibly loud scary sounds at 9:55PM. Meanwhile a loud party with stereo music, loud laughter and talking goes on for a couple of hours. I'm sick as a dog still and somehow managed to sleep through the night.

August 29, 2004 -- couple of whoppers during the day -- a fantastic day with only an hour or so of screaming kids to disturb the serenity!

August 30, 2004-September 25, 2004 -- Fantastic, there's no inhuman noise. Am recovering from the flu and have retrained my mind/body to sleep through the night. It took till Labor Day when I could dare sleep in my own bed and room once more. It's a miracle, still every time my roommate or I hear a completely normal noise, we're so terrified that the terror will begin once more. As of this date, the FBI has never returned my call -- that sure makes me feel safe and secure! I only got out the message that I wanted to report very strange behavior in my apartment complex -- it could be terrorists for all they know! Yet no call back! It took a couple of weeks to retrain myself to sleep through the night. I barely remember anything about the past month or so. Also, for weeks now I haven't wanted to come home ever again -- night or day -- and I'm completely a homebody! I even wanted to stay at work rather than come home and I've never before had a thought like that in my life! Now the only question is when will the torture begin again; we're always living in fear of it.

September 26, 2004 -- heard some back and forth ceiling thumping for about 10-15 minutes which struck fear into my heart but then nothing. False alarm - am just so afraid of it starting over it again.

September 27, 28, 29, 2004 -- heavenly quiet. Apparently the roommate is still their and apparently he flies from the front door to the bedroom as there are no abnormal noise infact so little as to say basically nothing. Yet the manager says he's home in the day. Mysteriously he returned from stay with mommy and daddy with a car. The manager said he didn't have one before. First I thought it was the notorious guest since I saw the car even though the routine was definitely the Sasquatch's.

September 29, 2004 -- the Sasquatch is back full force from 11:30PM-12:30AM nonstop dragging, dropping, slamming, bamming, marching which woke me up. Another poor night's sleep.

Setpember 30, 2004 -- 5-6PM big marching, my roommate sitting in her chair in the livingroom was starting to feel seasick from her chair rocking back and forth nonstop. More marching between 8:30PM-9PM or so then again another burst from 11:30PM till midnight. I called the manager and she said she'd call her manager.

October 1, 2004 -- 7:20AM whopper stomps begin and continue till I left 8AM. My roommate said there was hours on end of marching which continued when I got home at 6PM.

October 2, 2004 -- 9AM music from somewhere and stomping, must be the creature again. Mega ceiling shaker whoppers on and off all day and after 11:30PM too.

October 3, 2004 -- 9AM up and stomping but I left, spent a nice quiet day away in public places. 5:30PM nonstop stomping/marching till 7:30PM or so and big cileing shaking bam then intermittent but 8-9PM nonstop creaking, crunching and marching. Then woke me up with big stomps at 11:45PM, 1:44AM, 6:35AM.

October 4, 2004 -- Usual day but stomping/marching nonstop from 12:30PM to 2AM then every half hour to an hour till 6:30AM again so basically I snoozed as much as possible which is not the same as sleep!

October 5, 2004 -- 7:42PM creature begins marching; 8:40PM couple of whopping heart-stomping stomps; 8:50 running. I passed out from exhaustion so I don't know what happened - passing out from exhaustion though is not sleep.

October 6, 2004 -- creature arose at 7:20AM with big peppy stomps and squaks with running ceiling-shakers nonstop till I left. 7:18PM massive stomp then again I passed out early from exhaustion.

October 7, 2004 -- tolerable level of noise or was too tired and depressed to note anything.

October 8, 2004 -- tolerable level of noise till after 7PM followed by big peppy stomps but who cares. Am so sick of keeping this log. Have so many more important things to do - but I must document. Woke me after midnight with big speedy stomps all over the apt - why the heck is the vampire so much in a hurry at this hour? Then woke me up every hour till 6:30AM. Boy am I tired. Then 9:45PM nonstop creaking and stomping but I passed out from exhaustion, perhaps the creature slept?

October 9, 2004 -- Stomping/marching back and forth off and on all day - hope it tires itself out so it will sleep at night. Woke me up around midnight again but it was quiet after that.

October 10, 2004 -- 7AM stomping till I left home. 8:15PM big crunching noises. Woke me again several times between 11:30PM and 1AM.

October 11, 2004 -- Woke me again between 11:30PM and 1AM. Only could doze after that and NOT sleep.

October 12, 2004 -- Woke me again between 11:30PM and 1AM. Only could doze after that and NOT sleep.

October 13, 2004 -- Woke me again between 11:30PM and 1AM. Only could doze after that and NOT sleep.

October 14, 2004 -- Woke me again between 11:30PM and 1AM. Only could doze after that and NOT sleep.

October 15, 2004 -- I passed out from exhaustion and slept through whatever shenanigans vampire might have performed.

October 16, 2004 -- All quiet, thank the goddess! Got a halfway decent night's sleep.

October 17, 2004 -- 10:50PM begins running, stomping, slamming for about 20-30 minutes nonstop. Then between every 60-90 minutes all night till the morning.

October 18, 2004 -- Creature arrives home at 9PM and starts with massive creaking and it's nonstop for 20 minutes or so but not as loud as usual. Unfortunately, he woke me up with big stomping at 3:15AM and again at 5:30AM.

October 19, 2004 -- Woke me at 4:30AM, tried to doze till I had to get up to go to work.

October 20, 2004 -- Woke me up twice and after the 3AM wake up I really couldn't go back to sleep.

October 21, 2004 -- 5:30PM stomping and marching. 5PM it showered and played music with thumping/bombination but only for about 15 minutes. 8:30PM nonstop marching for about 15 minutes or so. I passed out exhausted soon after but he woke me up twice again in the middle of the night.

October 22, 2004 -- 5:15PM stomping starts, the first greeting I receive after walking through the door. Work me at 12:45AM and again 1:45AM, after that I just dozed but didn't sleep.

October 23, 2004 -- Am going to sleep earlier and earlier (around 8:30PM), dropping off in exhaustion which basically means I have no life at all anymore, just work and torture. It woke me up around 9PM then after midnight again, after which I mostly dozed.

October 24, 2004 -- 4 hours of constant nonstop stomping followed by intermittent stomping for another few hours. Woke me up after 11:30PM.

October 25, 2004 -- nothing in the morning, guess creature is sleeping in. 8:30PM ceiling shakers an at 8:50PM marching across apt with occasional running. To tired and depressed to log any more today and passed out by 9PM. Woke me up at 5AM.

October 26, 2004 -- 4:30PM-6PM lots of stomping around. Woke me after midnight as usual. It's increasingly difficult to doze after this daily onslaughts on my normal sleeping patterns.

October 27, 2004 -- 7AM work me again, but it's okay I have to get up anyway. 5:15AM marching/stomping virtually nonstop till about 8PM. I passed out from exhaustion soon thereafter. It woke me up at 4:30AM and again 5AM after which I couldn't go back to sleep.

October 28, 2004 -- 8PM nonstop marching across apt begins and continues till 8:30PM then there's intermittent running/slamming/marching till I passed out from exhaustion 10:30PM. Creature woke me up at 2:30AM and couldn't really go back to sleep after that. Strange that the manager reports that she's woken up by people running to throw out their garbage all throughout the night, I'm sure the same occurs on the 3rd floor and on mine (I do hear them when I'm awake), but they have NEVER woken me up - so much for being OVERSENSITIVE to noise.

October 29, 2004 -- Lots of pepping running between 5:30 until about 6:30PM. Passed out early but creature woke me up at 4AM followed by 10 minutes of ceiling-shaking stomps. Only managed to doze after that.

October 30, 2004 -- 9:05 massive ceiling shaker thought it was creature but turned out to be an earthquake - not much difference between them. Creature proceeds to stomp around for some time. 2:30 sounds like giant rats scurrying then there's the stomping/marching/creaking with a big slam at 2:40PM; 2:48PM a whopping ceiling shaker; 3:41PM another; 6:17PM massive heart-stopping noise; 7:30PM big stomps and buzzing while I'm attempting to eat dinner; it lasted about 1/2 an hour; 9:40PM big stomps again; 11PM big stomps and marching till midnight or so.

October 31, 2004 -- 8AM up with stomps/marching/slamming for about 30 minutes; then again for while after that. 4:15PM-4:45 walking on my roommate's brain! 6:15PM stomps begin and last about half an hour. 8PM Big Foot begins quite active and continues till I pass out with exaustion at 10PM. Creature woke me at 4AM and again at 6AM.

November 1, 2004 -- Creature up by 8AM. Ceiling-shaking marches from 6:15PM till about 7:30PM nonstop then intermittent whoppers across the apartment till I passed out at around 9:45PM. Roommate reported continuous ceiling shakers till past midnight.

November 2, 2004 -- Creature up by 8AM but I'm gone very soon after. 6:15PM marching begins and continues nonstop till about 7:30PM, then intermittent ceiling-shakers till I passed out till 9:45PM. Roommate reported ceiling-shaking stomping till after midnight.

November 3, 2004 -- Sasquatch up by 7:19AM followed by the usual. Interestingly my roommate said someone had tried to unlock our door during the day but she didn't see who it was. It could only be people entering the manager's office at 101 and creature's apt 301.

November 4, 2004 -- late night stomping and creature woke me at 6AM so got up and went to work.

November 5, 2004 -- 8:30PM marching begins - passed out early from exhaustion - basically woke me up over and over again especially between midnight and 1:30AM after which he seemed to sleep but I couldn't. Then creature was up again at 6:38AM followed by humongous crunching ceiling-shakers across apartment every our this marchcointinued till after 5PM according to my roommate, 7PM more of same then from 7:45PM nonstop marching all over the apt till after midnight and later. All I know is I was woken up repeatedly all night.

November 6, 2004 -- 7:25 AM creature woke me up with gigantic stomps across the apartment, this continued intermittently till 4PM then mega-noise till about 8:30PM with big-time marching.

November 7, 2004 -- A tolerable day.

November 8, 2004 -- 6:15AM creature up with big crunches. Woke me up after midnight and couldn't get back to sleep, only dozed a little off and on.

November 9, 2004 -- 5:30PM humongous stomping till 6PM then off and on followed by big macrhing noiess between 8:45-9ish. Then woke me up continuously at Midnight (when my roommate's window rattled from the stomps) at 2AM & 4:15 AM then I could only cat nap a little; but at 6:30 creature woke up and stomped all over the place. I swear the creature doesn't seem to sleep - is it on drugs? speed?

November 10, 2004 -- 7PM came out of bedroom with masive ceiling shakers; 8:02 megahumongous shakers; woke me at 1:30AM and again at 5:30AM so of course could not go back to sleep.

November 11, 2004 -- Report from roommate: all day marching back and forth, it stopped for a brief time between 5:30-6:30PM then once more the marching continued, then a break but after 8PM marching continuous till after midnight. Woke me at 1:15AM and couldn't go back to a proper sleep yet the monster was up at 7AM! It's an aberration -- doesn't the "student" need some sleep?

November 12, 2004 -- The cops came, called by Sasquatch because for a couple of days or so I've hit the ceiling hoping to wake him up so that he's sleep at night. They were very kind in listening to some of the story from my roommate. I plan on following up with them of course! The fact that he had to get up in normal working hours was too much for this compassionate "doctor" and he called the police instead of calling the manager -- she thought trying to wake him up was a good idea - that's what she told me! Meanwhile I have had little sleep during normal sleeping hours for over a year but that doesn't even register to the sociopath. The manager was completely useless, of course, only wanting to keep her job as easy as possible (as you can see from the deterioration of the complex). Yet this was the first quiet night I've had in weeks. Did creature finally realize???? Heck, no!

November 13, 2004 -- Creature up at 9AM or so; then after fleeing to the public library for some peace, I came home to the galloping-horse music at 12:50PM; there's continuous bombination followed by more galloping horses at 2:30PM lasting till 3PM then stomping around all of the time. The misery is really that I'm woken up at 12:50AM and again at 5AM so didn't sleep well once more.

November 14, 2004 -- 9AM creature definitely up and ceiling marches announce that. 12:22PM horrible thumping of musica and stomping - the usual routine; more horrible bombination at 2:45PM -- the usual pattern, annoying since I can't have use of my room at those times, but at least it doesn't last all day, so I bide my time. I did try to record the noise, but my pitiful equipment isn't able to record this. Again 3:40PM only 5 minutes of bombination so I can live with that. It's 4:28PM now and I will upload this info. Again creature lost me another day from my business and hobbies by having to document my torture instead of having "peaceful enjoyment" of my apartment. I have called the manager twice to receive dates and titles of the complaint letters from the management to the creature. I have yet to hear. It's clear the management doesn't care at all.
